JUST PONDERINGS

To the Lovers - what were you thinking of as you hold each others’ hands ? What were your thoughts as you locked in each others arms as you danced around the dance floor ? What were you thinking as you sway in the beautiful waltz that played in the dimmed ballroom ? To most of us lovers - these are days of the utmost delights, dreams of beautiful happenings, outings, dinners, picnics and dreams and dreams of ecstasy.

Husbands - "Now I pronounce you man and wife" or "Saya terima nikahnya ....."these are solemn, very meaningful words uttered by the man when he plunges into married life. What were you thinking of dear husbands ? Aha - to some it comes to mind "what have I done ?". Some may think " I have fulfilled my obligatory to myself and my parents and God ". What about others ? Hmm - there are those who marry and become husbands because they want to expand their businesses, to be in the crowds, to help destitute women and have fun and sex legally ! What then husbands after that sacred vow ? Do you fulfil your obligations rightly, religiously to your wives and children ? Think, think, think hard. Only you can answer rightly.

Dear husbands, you become our protectors, our bread winners, our beloved soul mates who admonished us gently when we are in the wrongs, and contradict us when we fall short of misbehaviours and foul languages. Woe betide us when we are disrespectful to your parents and ours. You are understanding lovers mate in beds and in the early years of marriages. You kiss, you cajole, you wipe our tears and you cuddle and speak lovingly to us and your caressing hands give us shivers ! All these we receive and look upon you dear husbands, our long life partners to the end !

Only, sad to say, it’s not what its to be ! What are you thinking of as we wives slowly grow wide in sizes ? The hairs beginning to turn white ? There are too many love handles for you to hold ? The wrinkles creeping in with those skins and pouch stomachs after bearing 4 / 6 / 8 children ? The once beautiful, taut porcelain faces and figures become like dried prunes ? Yes, what are you thinking of dear husbands ? What are your thoughts running in your heads ?Only you can answer !

Old Men. What are your thoughts ? You have reached the ripe old age of seventy and above ! Are your thoughts like the lovers of your younger days when you see pretty damsels parading in front of you ? You think you can outdo the young men of 20’s ? You think dear husbands you can still do wonders with the help of Viagra etc. ? Yes ! Maybe you have excelled in your fifty years of love making but have you considered your rickety wreaking bones to that of young filly ? Do you think the young svelte figures have stars in their eyes when they lock arms with you ? Think again dear husbands ! They see MONEY ! MONEY ! SECURITY !

Why must you be burden with more worries of secrecies, moneys, children, quarrels and bankruptcies ?

Just Ponder - won’t it be easier to live a life full of easy plain sailing where you make everyone HAPPY with being HAPPY YOURSELF with no burdens of those mentioned earlier. You will be blessed by God, and everyone that love you.

So, ponder, ponder, ponder dear husbands !
