Dear Sons, Dear Daughter
The Day when you will find that we become very old, try to have some patience with us and try to understand us. If we get dirty by eating.. If we have some difficulty dressing ... Be patient ! Remember the hours that we spent to teach you all sorts of things when you were small. If we repeat the same things dozens of times, Do not interrupt us ! Listen to us !
When you were small, you kept asking us to read you the same story, evening after evening, until you fall asleep. And we did it ! If we do not wash ourselves anymore so often under the shower, do not reprimand us and do not tell us that it is a shame. Remember how many excuses we had to invent to make you take your bath when you were small.
By seeing our ignorance towards the new technologies, do not laugh at us but leave us rather the time to understand. We taught you so many things indeed - to eat well, to dress well, to behave well, how to confront the problems of life, but technology and its spin-off with the inventions of the computers and their generations thereof, are things that need learning into not only for the young's but worse off for the oldies like us. Hence your utmost patience to us.
If we do seem to lose our memory or forget things at times or we are not able to discuss or follow a conversation, leave us the necessary time to recollect and if we do not reach there, do not become nervous or arrogant because the most important for us is to be with you and to be able to speak to you. Having you by our side is the best assurance that we can have that you still love us.
If we refuse to eat, do not force us ! We know very well when we are hungry and when we are not hungry.
When our poor legs will not allow us any more to move as before, Help us in the same way as we held your hands to teach you make your first steps. And when one day, we shall say to you that we do not want to live any more :. That we want to die; Do not get angry because one day, you will also understand ! Try to understand that at certain age, we do not really live any more. We simply survive !
One day you will understand that in spite of our errors, we always wanted what was best for you and that we prepared the ground for you to grow up.
You do not have to feel sad, unfortunate or incompetent in front of our old age and of our state.
You have to stay near us, try to understand that we are trying our best to live as we did for you at your birth. Help us to walk, help us to end our life with love and patience. The only way that we need to thank you for it, is a smile and a lot of love from you. We love you all always.
Your dad and your mom.

I could hardly recognise my favourite Siti in that front page photo. She looks somewhat fatter. It must be the marriage or could it be she is carrying ?
