On Saturday, March 28, 2009, at 8:30 pm, tunku.org will be taking part in what promises to be an amazing an inspiring event in the flight against climate change—Earth Hour, sponsored by the WWF.

By simply turning off all non-essential lighting for one hour at our locations and facilities across Malaysia/world, we will join millions of concerned citizens and corporations throughout the world in calling for action to save our planet for future generations.

More than 50 million people in 370 cities around the world took part in Earth Hour 2008. The lights went out at Sydney’s Opera House, Rome’s Coliseum, the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge. Even the Google homepage went dark for the day. Many major corporations took part including HP, Coca-Cola, and Morgan Stanley.

This year, Earth Hour promises to be even bigger.

To help us make sure the lights actually do go out on March 28th, we’d like to encourage all of our readers to participate in Earth Hour by turning off their lights at home and unplug non-essential equipment during the event.

We’ll also be asking our family members and friends to join us in supporting Earth Hour.
