we were never successful when it came to getting everyone to stick to a theme, but for this turnout, we were. everybody was with the theme! we did have some friction going when the liverpool and manchester united fans amongst us came in their favourite jerseys.
so who was present?
abah and mama;
zali nichols, kak ani, faiq, zharif and azhri;
john, kak farah and aisya;
fairuz, ranthy, marsya, afi and audi;
ajil alone (unfortunately yasmin, aiki and hibiki couldn't make it)
izzat, aida, omar, emir and uzair,
me, mazuin, maisarah and muhammad.
we honestly wanted to have our other uncles, aunties and cousins around but we felt it more manageable if we limited the numbers this round. plus, we are all meat eaters. one roast lamb would not be enough if we added more to the list. :)
we had some games and competitions going for the kids, courtesy of aida. we had best dressed category for adult male and female and kiddie category too.
for the drawing competition, marsya and muhammad were the winners.
for the best dressed category, abah, mama, muhammad and aisya came out winners.
we printed the lyrics to "the star spangled banner" for those who were to be penalised for not keeping to the theme. obviously, no one was penalised as no one wanted to have their video singing to the anthem posted on the website. we did discover something though. the anthem had more than 1 verse and our dear john, does not know the words to his own american anthem. hahaha.
we had cupcakes and sang multiple birthday songs for everyone. and, as a closure, we had a game of gin rummy going, whilst the other half of the adults were watching wimbledon.
we definitely have to do this again, soon.

oh look! just like the website. red, blue and white.
