Team Work

So here's the deal. Team work has always been emphasized in school, games and activities. When is it ok to NOT be a team player?

Aisya was supposedly " not a team player " last week during her ballet class. She said the other girls in class were being childish and annoying and so she decided to not do as what Ms Nancy wanted. Legitimate reasoning I thought. What do you think? It took me a week to come up with explanations as to why "team work" is important.

Team work at this age? Difficult to comprehend. They get it in school, they get it in extra curricular activities, they get it at home. Sigh...

I guess it just shows how individualistic this child is. Sure, I can be part of the team, but I AM THE LEADER. You follow me.
